?️ JAMMU–KASHMIR TOUR ITINERARY 2026

(Ex – Howrah / Kolkata)


DAY 1: HOWRAH / KOLKATA ➝ JAMMU (BY TRAIN)

Assemble at Howrah / Kolkata Railway Station to board your train to Jammu Tawi. Overnight journey by train.


DAY 2: IN TRANSIT

Full day on board the train, enjoying the changing landscapes and scenic beauty of the Indian countryside. Overnight on the train.


DAY 3: ARRIVAL – JAMMU ➝ KATRA

Overnight Stay: Katra

Upon arrival at Jammu Tawi Railway Station, transfer by road to Katra (approx. 50 km / 1.5 hrs).
After hotel check-in and freshening up, proceed to visit the Vaishno Devi Temple, one of India’s holiest pilgrimages. The temple can be reached:

  • On foot

  • By pony or palanquin (pittu)

  • By helicopter (subject to weather and availability)

After completing darshan, return to Katra  and overnight stay.


DAY 4: KATRA ➝ SRINAGAR (BY TRAIN)

Overnight Stay: Srinagar

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the railway station to board the train for Srinagar (Dep. 02:55 PM / Arr. 05:55 PM).
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight rest.


DAY 5: SRINAGAR – LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

Overnight Stay: Srinagar

After breakfast, enjoy a tranquil Shikara Ride (at own cost) on the Dal Lake, gliding past floating gardens and local markets — a signature Kashmir experience.

Post lunch, proceed for a full-day city tour covering:

  • Hazratbal Shrine – a sacred and serene mosque located on the northern shores of Dal Lake.

  • Mughal Gardens, including:

    • Nishat Bagh (Abode of Pleasure) – built by Asif Khan in 1632 AD.

    • Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love) – created by Emperor Jehangir for his beloved wife, Noor Jehan.

? Tulip Garden (Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden) – A must-visit attraction, this is Asia’s largest tulip garden, spread across 30 hectares on the foothills of the Zabarwan Range, overlooking the Dal Lake. During the blooming season (March–April), the garden becomes a breathtaking canvas of color, featuring over 60 varieties of tulips along with daffodils, hyacinths, and ranunculus. The vivid floral landscape, set against snow-clad mountains, makes it one of the most photographed spots in Kashmir.

All these gardens are set along the shimmering Dal Lake, framed by the Zabarwan Mountains — a perfect setting for memorable photographs.

Evening free for leisure or shopping at Srinagar’s famous handicraft markets.


DAY 6: SRINAGAR – EXCURSION TO GULMARG

Overnight Stay: Srinagar

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day excursion to Gulmarg (approx. 50 km / 1.5 hrs) – famously known as the “Meadow of Flowers.”
Highlights include:

  • World’s highest 18-hole golf course

  • Panoramic views of Nanga Parbat (weather permitting)

  • Optional Gondola (Cable Car) ride to Kongdoori (Phase 1) or Afarwat Peak (Phase 2) (at own cost)

Enjoy the scenic drive through Tangmarg, returning to Srinagar in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.


DAY 7: SRINAGAR – EXCURSION TO SONAMARG

Overnight Stay: Srinagar

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Sonamarg (approx. 83 km / 2½ hrs), a valley of gold meadows surrounded by snow-clad peaks.
You may hire a horse or local vehicle (at own cost) to visit Khajjiar or Zoji La Pass (Zero Point).
Return to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel.


DAY 8: SRINAGAR ➝ PAHALGAM

Overnight Stay: Pahalgam

After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam (The Valley of Shepherds) – approximately 90 km (2 hrs) from Srinagar.
Check in to your hotel and enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the Lidder River and surrounding pine forests.

Afternoon free for personal activities such as:

  • Horse riding (at own cost) to Baisaran Valley

  • Local trips to Aru Valley and Chandanwari (at own cost)

Overnight stay in Pahalgam.


DAY 9: PAHALGAM ➝ KATRA ➝ TRAIN TO KOLKATA / HOWRAH

After early breakfast, transfer to Srinagar Railway Station to board the train at 02:40 PM for Katra (arrival around 05:00 PM).
Later, board connecting train 13152 for Howrah / Kolkata (Dep. 08:30 PM). Overnight on train.


DAY 10: IN TRANSIT

Enjoy your day on the train, relaxing and reminiscing about the beautiful valleys and serene lakes of Kashmir.


DAY 11: ARRIVAL – HOWRAH / KOLKATA

Arrive at Howrah / Kolkata with unforgettable memories of the Jammu–Kashmir Tour, the divine blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi, and the breathtaking charm of the Paradise on Earth – Kashmir.
