ITINERARY:

Shimla–Manali Scenic Escape

Day 1: Departure from Howrah

Begin your journey by boarding the train from Howrah Railway Station. Settle in for a comfortable ride as you embark on this scenic northern adventure.
Distance covered by train: Approx. 1,750 km (Howrah to Chandigarh)

Day 2: En Route to the Himalayas

Enjoy a relaxing day aboard the train. Use this time to unwind, take in the changing landscapes, and prepare for the upcoming hill experience.

Day 3: Arrival in Chandigarh – Transfer to Shimla

Arrive at Chandigarh Railway Station and proceed by road to Shimla, the queen of hill stations (approx. 120 km / 4 hrs). After lunch and hotel check-in, take a leisurely evening walk along the iconic Mall Road and pay a visit to the sacred Kali Bari Temple. Overnight stay in Shimla.

Chandigarh to Shimla: Approx. 115 km (4–5 hours)

Day 4: Explore Shimla & Kufri

After breakfast, set out for a full-day excursion around Shimla, including the charming hill hamlet Kufri, known for its scenic views and adventure options. Do not miss the Green Valley, a picture-perfect spot nestled in dense pine forests. Return to Shimla by evening. Overnight stay in Shimla.

Shimla to Kufri round trip: Approx. 30 km

Day 5: Scenic Drive to Manali

Check out early and enjoy a beautiful 240 km drive to Manali, passing through valleys, riversides, and mountain passes. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax for the night amidst the peaceful mountain air.

Shimla to Manali: Approx. 240 km (7–9 hours)

Day 6: Discover Manali s Local Wonders

After breakfast, explore the charming town of Manali. Highlights include the ancient Hidimba Devi Temple, the fun-filled Club House, serene Van Vihar (Ban Vihar), the vibrant Tibetan Monastery, and the bustling Mall Road for shopping and street food. Overnight stay in Manali.

Within Manali: Approx. 10–15 km

Day 7: Atal Tunnel & Solang Valley Adventure

Gear up for an exciting day as you travel through the Atal Tunnel (India’s longest highway tunnel at 9.02 km, situated at 3,071 meters above sea level). Then visit Solang Valley, a hub for snow activities and breathtaking views. Return to Manali for overnight stay.

Manali to Atal Tunnel (North Portal) and back via Solang: Approx. 70 km round trip

Day 8: Manali – Manikaran – Mandi / Bhuntar

After breakfast, check out and travel to Manikaran Sahib (a spiritual destination famous for its hot springs and gurudwara). Continue onward to Mandi / bhuntar for an overnight stay.
Manali to Manikaran: Approx. 85 km

Day 9: Return Journey Begins

After an early lunch, transfer to Chandigarh or Kalka railway station for your return train journey.

Mandi to Chandigarh: Approx. 220 km

Day 10: In Transit

Relax onboard as you reflect on the memorable Himalayan experiences.

Day 11: Arrival at Howrah

Arrive back at Howrah Railway Station, concluding your unforgettable Shimla–Manali tour.
